But Buzzfeed does publish this stuff - which is the point that goes back to my original point in post #17. And people eat it up because they want it to be true.
People eat it up because there's a track record of it turning out to be true.
Take, for example, Stormy Daniels. Trump called it "fake news," but then admitted it was all true.
Also take, as another example, the Trump Tower meeting. They said it was "fake news" until emails showed up. Then they admitted it was true.
So in light of the retracted denials made by Trump's camp, in addition to the fact that Cohen has already pled guilty to lying under oath about the Trump Moscow Project, why do you believe Buzzfeed's reporting strains all credulity?
This is going into a House Investigation, if they get the multiple witnesses from the Trump Org and internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents proving this to be true. Game Over.
As a practical matter, you're probably right, but it shouldn't be that way. Your party's attempted coup against the President -- the ultimate in election interference -- is a million times worse than the target panicking and telling a lie when illegal pressure is applied to him.
If Trump is removed from office, the coup will have succeeded, and a much greater evil will have prevailed. If the Senate has any fortitude, they will vote to keep Trump in office even if this latest allegation is true.
How funny is it that some Trump supporters still believe the "Deep State" and democrats are attempting a "coup" against the president.
Five people from his campaign have been to federal prison. All 13 intelligence agencies in the United States agree that Russia interfered in our election.
Trump was working with Russia on a Trump Tower deal and was going to gift Putin the $50M penthouse suite.
Trump has had FIVE private 1 on 1 meeting with Putin and NOBODY in the United States government knows what they discussed, not even his senior aides or his Chief of Staff
Trump jr met with Russians about "adoption" which turned out to be dirt on Hilary in Trump Tower in 2016
Trump continues to ease sanctions on Russians and has never once condemned Putin for interference
Trump said in 2015 that "nobody from my campaign had any contact with Russia." False statement.
But "the dems are out to get Trump." Maybe there's a reason LOL

Actually, this time they aren't denying its true. Trump, Giuliani, and a WH spokesperson all attacked Cohen's credibility but none of them actually denied the allegation that Trump instructed Cohen to lie to Congress. In fact, when directly asked on Fox News, the WH spokesman dodged the question and deflected to calling the media biased.
Why would two law enforcement enforcers come to Buzzfeed of all places? A site that usually publishes stuff like “what’s the best boy band”
They also reported on the Steele Dossier. The Steele Dossier was in fact a real thing. Whether the information in the document is substantiated or not is not relevant.
Buzzfeed's story is not even all that mind-blowing in the grand scheme of things. We already knew Cohen lied about the Trump Tower Moscow Project. Reporting that Trump told him to do it is not exactly as ludicrous as making a claim about the JFK assassination.
Does this mean you want us to assume it is fake news?
For right now, I would go ahead and consider it unsubstantiated.
