If I know it is a he, I use he, his, him. Ditto for a she. Although sometimes you don’t know and he/she may also be confused. Then, I use they, them, their. Just quit exporting your SJW crap north.
Congress and many if not all state congress people, swears an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution — including the First Amendment, which declares: “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech.”
You are absolutely correct. I own my own speech and choose the words with which I express myself. No reasonable person, left or right, would ever see that the time-honored English pronouns of "he" and "she" could be considered "hate speech" or discriminatory in any way. And even in the case of transgendered people, don't they always identify as either "he" or "she", after their change? Just exactly for whose benefit would a gender-neutral pronoun be established? How many of us would choose to be relegated to a sexless status? Not including those who use non-gender web-handles, of course.
A few decades ago, those who considered themselves on the cutting-edge of social progress, coined a new pronoun, "jhe", pronounced, "zhee", as a neutral-gender personal pronoun. There it was and anyone could have adopted it, but it disappeared very soon, as it wasn't needed or wanted.
I find myself often using the plural pronoun, "they", to apply to a single person of indeterminate gender or as a reference to an abstract construct of personhood, but I'm told that this is grammatically incorrect. Is this politician going to make me correct in this use of "they"?
I'm planning a trip to California... is dumbass gender neutral???
Especially weird for California since so many parts of it are overrun with Mexicans and in the Spanish language everything is masculine or feminine. This would be hostile to the Mexican culture and also the Muslim religion where gender divisions are central to Islam. You see how the liberals catering to different groups are going to cause internal conflict?

The California Senate is not Congress. Nor is a high school valedictorian. Yet, for some reason, our Supreme Court says they are.
However, the Ninth Amendment might cover this.
I don't know the CA state constitution, but the US Constitution gives legislators the power to set the rules for proceedings
No, it doesn't. State legislators have those powers without the Constitution.
, presumably to include what language is allowable. A few years ago our state legislature passed a law to change all legal references to "Oriental" to "Asian." Practitioners of "Oriental medicine" asked for and received exemption. There was no First Amendment challenge to it.
That's because it had nothing to do with regulating the speech of citizens, and even legislators are citizens and have rights.

Better take some anti-stupid pills. I hear stupidity in California is contagious.
