The kids were sitting in a public space waiting for their bus. It is not incumbent upon them to do a damn thing if they were the ones minding their own business and obeying the law.
Because when the group of black israelis was yelling stupid crap at them & then the high schoolers started in on their chanting, it was pretty obvious things were tense. That is when the chaperones should've done what they were there to do, CHAPERONE & moved the high schoolers away. They failed in doing the one thing they were there to do.
What's interesting is how basically every person on this thread has done nothing but disparage the NA & said nothing about the group of 5 black israelis or whatever their name is. It's almost as if those same people refused to watch the whole video.
There have been a couple of people who've commented on them, but yes, they have not received anything like the criticism they deserve for their role in this mess. For that matter, neither has the other Native American man who actually was yelling and hurling insults. Everyone got so caught up in drumming vs. smirking that an awful lot of much worse behavior was completely ignored.
That doesn't prove racism, it proves that they've been wearing body paint to games for many, many years. Something I've seen repeatedly at lots of other schools etc.
Here are examples of students painted green, blue, red, black, purple and a host of other colors. None of this of course is racist either.
