The shutdown should have exactly zero effect on anyone who manages their finances correctly, yet every day some lib posts a new story whining about money running out. Why?

This shutdown really needs to continue until life lessons are learned. They should have been learned as a child, but better now than never.

There have been people in the media affected by the shutdown that voted for Individual 1. Some of his supporters said they regret voting for him. They're not liberal. That explains his low approval ratings. The ship is sinking.

The majority of federal employees are republican and independents, not democrats.
And, the majority of people in this country live paycheck to paycheck. Why the need to judge them?

It's a persistent problem that never gets addressed. Financial ignorance shouldn't be treated with kid gloves.

Presumptuous position...

Life happens

Everyone's situation is different

It's not solely an issue for liberals.

Liberal on the brain. Put the Limbaugh pipe away for a few weeks and watch your IQ soar.

Those forced to work w/o pay are actually incurring costs. So not only are they draining any savings through lack of pay, it's being compounded with added costs.

Silly question: Do you have kids? And are you less than 300% FPL income level?

If yes to both. Carry on and BIG thumbs up. Walkin the Talkin!

If mix... depends

If no to both, you have no clue and are unqualified to lecture.

Families are very very hard on finances. We have a couple months grace but that is it.

A lot of federal employees are military veterans and most of those are right wing* (and some that are suffering right now are active duty military, re The Coast Guard). Sure a lot of the federal workers are also liberal. It's just like anything else in this country, a mix. Since I live outside of DC and know a lot of federal employees, I would have to go with most seem to be apolitical (independents).

My point is, not having an emergency fund isn't a liberal vs. conservative issue, it's an American issue as most Americans don't seem to have good emergency funds. The reasons why are varied from personal irresponsibly, to having spent emergency funds on emergencies, to just being young and not having time to build a fund yet.

* Edited to add, I also know left wing military members. Although it seems like most are right leaning. Again, my point being, you can't paint a huge group of people with one brush.
