Good post, and a good example of why I remain adamantly opposed to marijuana legalization. The only way I could even begin to support it is if it were taxed at rates up to 1000% (as with cigarettes) and the tax revenue thereof directed specifically to fund health problems due to drug use.
btw marijuana has been linked to Erectile Dysfunction. There is even a slang term for it: "weed d***." Not exactly what I would want to have on my wedding night. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/317104.php
Wouldn’t you want to remember your wedding and wedding nite with your spouse. How the hell will you remember when your completely stoned. I don’t know much about pot but what are guests supposed to do eat the brides wedding dress or inhale it..
I'm pro legalization but I'm getting kind of tired of driving on Long Island roads and smelling weed behind every other car driven by anyone under the age of 30. Can you people really not get through a day without smoking this crap?
Wait. The potheads promised they wouldn't do it in public or drive while high.
They promised!

I've lived in California for a few years now. Before they legalization, I would smell weed nearly every day at my apartment complex. But afterwards, I only notice it maybe once a week. I suspect it has to do with the availability of edibles.
The CBD you can buy from decent places is better than most "pot shop" CBD. Just saying. It's a chemical substance and they have labs break it down into the component parts for verification.
"Hemp" CBD which is made from carefully cultivated specific hemp plants is chemical identical (or superior) to what comes from a "bud" plant.
CBD is only expensive in some relative fashion...about $1 per day from a decent vendor. That is well less than a cup of coffee even at Dunkin.
What I am getting at is that even if pot is legal in a state a coffee shop is likely to use hemp derived CBD for consistency and supply. For the big bucks pot biz, CBD is somewhat of an afterthought and sales pitch - by mixing it with THC the shops can market different products (names).
I hear ya. I guess when I say "expensive", I mainly mean just the up front cost. In other words, I could get a medication of some sort for $10 with insurance, and it will last a minimum of a month. To get a decent CBD oil (strong enough to work for me), you are looking at $50+ for a bottle, which will probably last less than a month, or right at a month, if used daily. At least around here. I was having to go into Florida to buy it, although we now have a place that sells it down the street from us which I haven't yet checked out. I will admit, I haven't done a ton of research into the costs though, mainly because I like going to the store I frequent, and know the owners.
My greater point, was simply that the OP seems to think CDB in coffee has something to do with people being "Drug addicts Cheech and Chong", which is just not true.

Btw, cbd is not psychoactive.
I have never seen anything in writing or video promising any such thing. "Potheads" are not a block. They come from all walks of life and look like you and me, the homeless, a Dr., a lawyer, a nurse, and fast food workers.
PEOPLE do stupid things (like driving while stoned) they also drive drunk, text while driving, litter, and there is video on YouTube of drivers that are in an accident, and are still on their hand held phone AFTER the accident. We are all part of the same human race as they are. Too bad for us.
Government studies by the Transportation Safety Administration have shown both that it can impair driving reaction times and other studies, by the same entity, have shown no significant effect on driving ability.
Later studies have shown that an inexperienced driver that uses cannabis will have difficulties driving, while more experienced users will not show any impairment. This is why it is so difficult to establish a blood limit showing impairment, like we have with alcohol. This is also why a Field Sobriety Test is still one of the best ways to detect actual impairment, which should be the legal basis for arrest and punishment, not an arbitrary number dreamed up by a politician or testing lab.
Funny, my CBD coffee has never made me black out. Am I doing it wrong or something?
