So why Trump and the Republicans are raising a fuss about an imaginary national security crisis on the border, they are gutting the ability of our nation to deal with with the Intelligence community has identified as a significant national security threat.

And with 2020 less than two years away, Trump Administration has "significantly downsized" two task forces designed to stop foreign interference. It feels like we are stuck in a parallel universe.
What could they even do? Stop foreign countries from buying adverts on FB? The feds can't even stop their own networks from being hacked nor can they stop their secrets from being stolen, they can do absolutely nothing about this. What they CAN do though is implement a nationwide election photo ID requirement that would do more than anything else.

There is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even rig American elections, in part because they're so decentralized and the number of votes involved. So I'd invite the Democrats to stop whining and go try to make their case to get votes.
