If my house was on fire, I wouldn't wait 2+ years to call the fire department.

His vanity project is a sham, only to please his base, but mainly his fragile little ego.

It would fracture the pugs. It’s possible trump would be primaried as traditional pugs tried to get rid of trump before he irrevocably damages the brand.

The idea of Trump declaring a national emergency gets better and better.

Haven't you been listening? Trump has laid out the issues end to end for months. Law enforcement say a barrier is needed. Democrats in past years before the crisis became this bad advocated for a wall along the border. The need is there and has been explained time and time again. Pay attention.

Strange, I don't recall any hubbub when every previous president had dozens of national emergencies.

Thought I heard Trump doesn't have to declare a national emergency to continue putting up border barriers.

Since you yourself state that he's been talking about this for months, it clearly is not an emergency. Perhaps you need to go look up the definition of emergency if this is confusing to you.

The point being, if he tries, he is going to force the Republicans into a no-win situation. What do posters here think they would do in such a situation? Do they continue to prop up the demagogue in the White House out of fear of his ever-shrinking base, or do they finally take a stand?

Stay tuned. It's going to be fun to watch.

I’ve said all along that any dem wanting to impeach trump is wrong. Leave him right where he is so everyone can see what he is. Then the pugs get damaged as they try to ride the tiger. He will eat them all to save himself.

The GOP is usually the first to take up the fetal position.
No one would be surprised if they do it again.

According to Trump it has been a national emergency for almost 2 months now, so why is he so scared to proclaim one? My guess is that he is lying as usual. If it were truly an emergency, he would have already declared it.

No they have not.

George W. Bush declared 13 emergencies and Barack Obama declared 12 -- nearly all of which are still active today. Bill Clinton declared 17 national emergencies, six of which are still active. Ronald Reagan declared six and George H.W. Bush declared four -- but all of those have been revoked by now.
