You know what else is New York City gives upstate?
It's trash.......
Both the landfill variety and the human variety.
Not to mention the high taxes, horrible economy and high unemployment that are largely due to the liberal Democrats like Cuomo that the people in New York City keep electing.
Which is why plenty of people in upstate would prefer to just secede.
NYC is the only reason that NY State is blue.
Is that so? A visit to upstate New York reveals that upstate has always had its fair share of human trash (that didn’t come from NYC). Just drive around towns like Cohoes, Rochester or Jamestown....for starters.
Good luck with seceding from NYC. The whole damn state would be broke the next day. Lol

Processing contaminated water costs money. Who is supposed to pay for that expenditure if not the people who actually contaminate the water and expect it to get recycled?
I wish you guys were this vigilant about war spending...God forbid.
It was suppose to be paid by all the fees tacked on by the permit process...and no one mentioned extra tax when a person/entity was getting approval and constructing such surfaces. This is a new tax slapped on things that previously were created with no thought of such tax, and what ever fees were paid contributed to the externalities created by the surface construction.
It is like buying your TV thinking everything is fine, then the gov turning around and slapping a tax on it, whereas your budget never included having an extra tax each year on your TV, and your TV buying decisions may have been different if you knew it.
The bill, approved by the New Jersey Assembly and the Senate, would allow municipalities to create utilities that can collect fees from homeowners and business owners that have large paved surfaces, like driveways and parking lots. During storms, rainwater mixes with pollutants on those surfaces before running into sewers and drains.

Now it has more than it's fair share, many of which are criminals from downstate who come to upstate for the easy pickings in the small cities and towns.
Killing the economy and the small town lifestyle that upstate once enjoyed and replacing it with high taxes, high crime and no future.

And what killed upstate New York’s economy was the loss of many large employers like Singer. It had nothing to do with downstaters. That’s a lie.
Moreover, upstate areas made a fortune in the summer months from the dozens upon dozens of summer camps and resorts...money that cane from the NYC Metro area. When travel to more exotic locales got cheap, people in the Apple abandoned you bumpkins in Upstate.

High taxes and burdensome regulations imposed by Liberal politicians, elected mostly by people from New York City.
And singer didn't leave, they were bought out by BAE systems .....I know I used to work there...
And Virginia's weather is nowhere near as bad as New York state's in the winter ......at least the part of Virginia I'm in.
They are already doing this in the Susquehanna watershed under mandate from the EPA. The bills just went out about month back in my area, people are losing their minds because some of them are quite expensive. The money is supposed to be spent on storm water upgrades.
It's an idiotic tax. The owners of the vehicles are the ones who leak fluids and choose where to do it.
I've been paying a "stormwater fee" for 8 years in NC. I guess the NJ Democrats copied what the NC Republicans started years ago. I deduct it as part of my taxes anyway!
