Democrats not negotiating. Gee, what a shock.
Of course, when the Democrats kept repeating they'd negotiate after the end of the shutdown, we knew they were lying. This gives the President the upper hand, as he was willing to negotiate in good faith, which the Democrats had no intention in doing.

This insistence that we have to make Mexico pay for it shows that Dems aren't doing what's best for America.....they just want to keep Trump from getting a "win."

Dems will agree to a wall when they love their country more than they hate Trump.

And anyone other than a far leftist will realize that the fault of another shutdown is on the Dems. They promised they would negotiate if Trump re-opened the govt. He held up his end of the bargain.

Yep, when Trump said the Mexicans would pay for the wall, I could hear people in Mexico laughing clear down here in Florida ! Then, he changed his tune and said they would "pay for it in different ways, like the profit we make on certain deals". What a clown.

As for Mexico paying for the wall how many times do I have to post the link of Trump's plan to make them do that? He never, ever said they'd write a check for it but pay for it indirectly.
They weren't worried because the costs were unknown but learned fast that pile driving barrier plates into river beds is a costly and ultimately useless exercise. They also learned that the illegal problem wouldn't go away with a wall due to guys like Trump continuing to bring them in on temp visas and continue using them after those visas expire, sometimes for decades of having children.

Next up; There are any number of videos with Trump boasting Mexico will pay, Mexico will pay...he shouted it multiple times in one speech alone. If his intent was for some convoluted plan other than Mexico writing a cheque then he should enumerate that plan to the democrats...…..he hasn't............he cannot...…...he doesn't have a plan.

None of that matters. The Dems didn't say "no, we will never pay for the wall because you said Mexico would," they said, "we will negotiate on the wall payment if you reopen the govt." Now they are reneging.

And to think.....all this is because the Dems care more about easing the path for illegal immigrants than protecting the Americans who are harmed in the areas where they settle.

Sure is funny how the Democrats and their base weren't concerned about Mexico paying for the wall back in 2006 when the actual wall bill was passed and it was to soley be the taxpayer to fund it. At least Trump still has a plan for it.

The one you are replying to doesn't want a wall anyway as those from south of our border share his ethnicity. It's a tribal mentality that trumps our laws and what is best for the rest of us. It's a selfish, racist stance to take.

You liberals are so dishonest, so full of **** that it's mind boggling. You want open borders because you see it as a way to ensure that the democrats never lose another election. That is what this is all about. Not some "wall".

You've asked this question a million times it seems and when answered you seem to refuse to accept the answer.

Simply put -- 2006 was 2006. It is now 2019 -- 13 years later.

That's the most obvious of answers.

Second, at the time the Democrats agreed to some fence building (fence not a wall and YES the two are very different) they saw the FENCE -- not the wall -- as insignificant. In fact, the original agreement was for a two layer fence -- which was later REDUCED to just one.

The scope of the project was much smaller.
