Of course, whenever one of these stories appears, you'll see a bunch of comments from men saying, "Where were these teachers when I was a kid?" and it undermines the severity of the problem of women preying upon boys.
^^^This. Based on the replies to these threads, it is not generally women who don't take this kind of thing seriously. It's other men. Take it up with them, guys.

Agreed. This woman is an unstable predator and deserves jail time. Children need guidance and shouldn't be coerced into sex with an adult. And the child shouldn't be given the thumbs up by a bunch of men with hard ons as if the child did something worthy.
Joke about it okay, but to applaud it??????

No you just weren't raised properly. Pedophilia is wrong.

It's entirely possible that no literal coercion was involved. Lots of teens would jump at the chance to score some free booze and sex. Nevertheless, it's the responsibility of adults to act like adults, and part of that means not having sex with a child, even if the child appears to be willing.

The teen was enticed no doubt. Even if there wasn't booze. The teen was enticed to make a bad decision.

Good that you brought up the word coercion. It gives off a sense of making people do things they wouldn't normally do but it's used when the action is considered incorrect. When it's about a reward it's called enticed. Selling a particular washing machine that may be comparable or slightly less quality than another because the commission is higher. Nothing really negative in the "wording" on that.

Enticed can be bad also. Not saying you're saying one way or the other.

I get hung up on the precise meaning of words. Sometimes perhaps too much, but I believe it matters, so I would rather be too exacting about them than not enough, if that makes sense.

I think of coercion as involving a threat of some kind, but agree with you that enticement can be just as bad, and certainly was in this case.

If he's a white male minor with a smile or smirk or attended Catholic HS in Covington Ky, she will need to be exonerated.

That is the reason for statutory laws. I've seen some 15 year old's of either gender that could easily pass for 20 year old's in both stature and behaviour.

People throw around the pedo word way too much. Pedophilia is a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children. 15 is not prepubescent.
