Democraps are evil but not stupid.
I have come to the conclusion that it isn't as much about the votes as it is about supporting more government. Think about what happens with all the illegal immigration. You need more interpreters, more teachers, more social workers, more police, more courts, more prisons - many of those jobs are held by Democratic supporters. The reality is that the Democrats are taking 'care' of their own - people that rely on the system instead of paying to support the system.

It shocked the Democrats in the 2016 election when many Hispanics voted for Trump. People that legally entered our Country do not like the idea of others that do not pay their dues and then, unfairly, compete for jobs. That is not just for Hispanics; it is for anybody that tries to follow our laws.

I think that's only half of it. I think they are against it because they know it will work and it will make him look good, almost guaranteeing another Trump win in 2020. The longer they can push it off, the better for them because he won't have proof that it actually works.

They are just throwing anything they can against the wall (excuse the pun) and hoping something sticks since they know they have no real argument especially in light of the fact that their people called for barriers before Trump did.

Does Pelosi not realize her state has the most complete boarder wall of all the states? Texas has basically nothing and others merely vehicle barriers that one can walk across, literally. California in comparison is maximum security. So is this a case I have my fence but you can't have yours? I have my safety but you can't have yours? Do as I say not as I do?

I mean I'm just a Trumper with but wee monkey brain, help me understand. Its like building a fence around your yard then proposing a law to the community planning board no new fences. So while your children are safe playing mine are not? "Well we now view fences as immoral but since ours is already built, hehe, oh well... And let me tell you it doesn't work at all...hehe" Is that it?
It's hard to ignore common sense.

We've evolved and there is much sophisticated technology. We realize that MOST of the illegal residents are here because of overstaying visas. We understand there is a difference between criminal activity & those require humanitarian efforts.

There are some places a barrier is a good idea. Some places it isn't.

If the Democrats had agreed to Trump's original proposal, the country would be getting into debt to build a huge concrete monument to Trump. But the push back has resulted in people realizing there is not a one step, simple approach to the problems.

We need to provide a comprehensive immigration strategy. Perhaps barriers in some areas, technology for sure, and a definite improvement of existing systems, policies, procedures and infrastructure.

If Trump had presented a plan that incorporated more than just building a huge monstrosity as a symbol of his presidency -- maybe things would be different.

It has been proven those barriers along the California border have been breached with miles of tunnels. It is naive to think a physical structure/barrier won't be breached again. And to suggest it will stop drug smuggling is naive and ignoring the facts that the DEA reports most illegal drugs come in through legal ports of entry or by water.

It may be true that there are more asking for asylum but it is a direct result of the crisis in Central America. Families want a better life for their children. We have a choice to say no to everyone or decide if our growing economy can support more immigrants. I do think we need a balance of skilled and unskilled labor and that has to be taken into consideration.

A big fat wall for the big fat President is not the 'simple' solution. It is a naive approach to a complex issue.

The illegal immigrants are the future democrat/socialist voter base. That's why.

The dems want open border just for that very reason. So they can be in Power. The dems do not give one s&^% about public safety or health or welfare.

Open borders for criminal illegals to enter our country and the killing of unborn babies! --- The Democratic way!
