Living around liberals isn't cheap. I am glad I will never be able to afford to live around them.

$379,000 for a 1,200 square in Compton which is represented by Maxine Waters

$149,000 for 1,100 square foot home in Redding, California which is the most Republican city of it's size in the state.

Because people want to live there. Welcome to capitalism. What a odd question.

Nice neighborhoods, good schools, safety, shopping, dining, cleanliness, and educated and cultured neighbors are what make them more expensive places to live compared to (especially rural) conservative areas.

The rural vs urban divide mostly. Once people live around people that aren't like them they tend to be more liberal and open minded about things. Not to mention the good paying jobs are in cities so of course real estate is going to be expensive. Compton is not a good example as for LA it's still a bargain. Who represents the district in Redding, or is it just essential to throw Maxine Waters out there?

Basic supply and demand. The demand is far higher in the liberal areas since so many want to live there. Cheap in conservative areas because so few want to live there.

What "worthless regulations"? Like running water, and electricity?

Pretty simple, I wouldn’t want to live in a podunk rural hick town. A modern cosmopolitan city? Oh yeah.

Good, article on how California's green regulations and permit process cause housing prices to sky rocket and cause a scarcity in new inventory.

Conservatives and Liberals both like nice areas so that suggestion makes little sense.

It's a complex issue with no simple solution.

Look at one of the key dividing issues, guns.

Rural areas have a much higher % ownership and a vastly lower rate of gun violence. So it's not surprising why rural and urban areas would hold different positions on that topic.

Another one would be gays etc. which would be more the opposite as gays would generally migrate to more urban areas for a variety of obvious reasons.

I think if you go down the list, some may be about relocation but others are just a byproduct of the living environment in the area.

To get to where you want to be at some point you're going to have to pay for it. That's common sense not sure why that's a bad thing.
