Create your own league and make the rules.

Also, abolish government schools.

Problem solved (dusts off hands)

The only solution is to have the categories to be height and weight, not gender. Sorry whoever would have been the next Serena Williams

The quandry is that in the realm of political correctness, women sports authorities are all nervous to stand up and state the obvious....lest they be publically condemned and quite possibly protested until they're out of a job.

This is nothing negative against trans people but just the spirit of competitive fairness that established those guidelines in the first place.

People may mentally feel they are the other gender, seek surgery to change that, identify etc. which frankly is their business and I fully support them.
That does not change how they were physically endowed at birth.
I agree 100% Because of political correctness, no one has the balls to stand up against the inequity that this issue is causing in the Wide World of Sports!

Let's see what happens when they get to the Olympics with their DNA gender tests

I have to say this. In high school, what kid is transgendered?? Who are these parents allowing a CHILD to change their bodies, take hormones, whatever?

Parents need to tell their kids they accept them not matter what gender they feel, however they will have to wait until they’re adults to make these body altering decisions.

They should make the transgender participant strap on about a 38D lead bra to make it fair.

So... take the Paralympics and expand them to include everyone? ... with a zillion different categories to cover all types of biological advantage/disadvantage? Sounds real easy. How about a separate basketball category for men under six feet?

That’s hardly the “only solution.” The solution is to not let them compete, or have transgender leagues. Or I’d even accept what one of the parents said in Connecticut- let them compete but keep their scores in a specialized category so they aren’t denying spots to biological girls. One girl finished two spots from being able to go to state. If these two totally male transgenders (they aren’t even on hormone therapy!) weren’t in the competition, that girl would have a chance to compete in front of more college recruiters. It’s just patently unfair...and insane!

Agreed! And making rules that encourage young adolescents to begin hormone blockers or taking hormones is wrong. That’s why I disagree with that rule too (besides the fact that hormones don’t change skeletal and muscular structures).

I worry about the number of kids that are doing this and will later regret it. Can you imagine the “why did you let me do that? I was a kid.” This IS going to happen to a good number of them.
