Here's the thing about supporting the lesser of two evils. Once the election is over you still have to hold that evil to account.

I voted for Trump because he said he'd do what umpteen others had promised and didn't do. He has fulfilled many of those promises and will continue to do so after 2020. I'll vote for him again. No lesser of two evils needed.

They can't, and won't.

Basically, they've put a rattlesnake in their front yard to ward off intruders.

And they've scared away the intruders.

But now, they have the problem of having a rattlesnake in their front yard. Which is its own difficulty.

I'm convinced that the main reason Trump continues to be so popular and why his supporters won't even reconsider their position is the fact that all the "right" people are against Trump.

The media, the Washington establishment, academia, the LGBTQ community, atheists, religious minorities, ethnic minorities, coastal elites, etc all despise Trump. What do all those groups have in common? They are despised by WASP conservatives. Admitting that Trump may be crooked would mean admitting that "the left" might have been right about something and that's just a bridge too far for most Trump supporters. Especially since a majority actually believe Trump to be divinely appointed.

If you take away only one thing from this thread, it’s this...TRUMP ONLY LOVES TRUMP.

Agreed - this is his mission, and like the OP said he is a genius at it. The neo-fascist movement in America would never have gained the momentum it has today if not for Rush Limbaugh's brilliant propaganda. He is the expert at taking something that has a grain of truth and spinning and whipping it into yet another paranoid conspiracy theory that his listeners lap up eagerly.

If Trump succeeds at ripping apart our democratic systems and moves us toward an authoritarian State, there is absolutely no doubt that Rush Limbaugh will be remembered as the one that paved the way.

It all started with Rev. Jerry Falwell. Rush came a few years later.

Without Jerry Falwell, our country would be completely unrecognizable today.

And thank you for demonstrating, in a single post, all the self-righteousness, bitterness and pure hatred over the failure of the not-so-"liberals" to impose their rules and their "thinking" on all of us.

I've never been a strong admirer of Limbaugh; but his message, oversimplified though it might be, galvanized the efforts, of those hard-working (but usually forgotten) Americans who Hillary Clinton was foolish enough to castigate and dismiss as "deplorables"

Your side, not ours, is the one that needs to examine its conscience, (if you have one).
