Not true. They can easily dupe huge numbers of people into blaming it on "the other".

Medicare will be cut and the same with social security. As long as labor unions are crushed, the same labor unions that created Medicare and SS in the first place, there is no way these programs will be preserved for future generations.

The trade union movement democratize and civilize a society like nothing else does. In a country without strong labor unions, you can be sure that workers live precarious lives. Without unions, the typical laborer is a mere shrimp among sharks. The working class stand no chance to effectively organize and have their voices heard in the political process.

Trump isnt radical enough for you. At least the libertarians are honest about not supporting a public safety net and eliminating Medicare and Social Security.

Our overpriced health care just saved the life of an old communist.

The Mayo Clinic accepts my insurance. I could go there if need be. Turn your health care over to the government and they decide where you can go, they decide your care pathways, and they decide how much they are going to spend on you. You have no legal recourse to dispute them. If you are a smoker or are overweight, they limit your care because you're just a statistic, a number in an actuarial table, a line on a spreadsheet, and your ration of money would be better allocated to somebody with better numbers. No thanks. I'll make my own choices, good or bad.

You leftists put too much faith in a collective. You are so willing to give up freedoms for the promise of a perceived security. It is regressive. It is a move backwards for the human condition. And it is just ... un-American.

I don't get why libertarians and conservatives keep spouting this ^^^^. Look at any country that is considered to be third-worldish, or as Trump puts it, a "sh*thole" and they have no social services and crappy infrastructure but yes, the taxes are low. Look at any country that is considered to be advanced and it has lots of social services and yes you pay more taxes. Your idea that the US should become a third-world country and that would be progress completely flies in the face with reality. But of course you all are free to pack up and move to one of those third world countries where you can be "free".

And you don't think private insurance companies do this?? How do you think they manage to pocket enough money to make a profit.

Private insurance companies already do this and more. With a single payer system a person could see any doctor or visit any hospital they want.

Well, their profit margin is actually pretty low, 2-3 % and that's why Obamacare had to instantiate a "cost corridor" to reimburse the insurance companies for the huge expenditures at the outset.

Just like you can go to any doctor you want with medicare? That is so patently false as to be laughable.

well if their profit margin is so low, how come they had to pay the gov't 800 million?

The ACA requires health insurers to spend at least 80% of premium revenue on claims or quality improvements or refund the difference to customers. Insurers are expected to pay back $800 million this year to make up for too-low medical loss ratios in 2018. https://www.modernhealthcare.com/ins...obamacare-2019

That's not my idea. You move to a point of absurdity to try to make your argument, that libertarians and conservatives want no government at all. That's simply not true. Liberty is progress. Opportunity is progress. Leftism is antithetical to both of those. Many of those "advanced countries" you are referencing require continuous capitalist infusions to prop up their collective exteriors. They are like old men on dialysis machines.

Many people on soc sec don't sign up for part B Medicare. When your check is $800 a month, the $130-$140 for part B is too much if you want to eat. B is what covers dr. visits etc. A is hospitalization.
