You of course assume that nothing would fill the void. For the record. I wear New Balance. Made in America and I have never paid more than $90 a pair. I don't know where you got your $250 price tag from. I will say this, there is world outside of Walmart and Dollar General for those who feel brave.

I lived paycheck to paycheck for years. I don't feel bad for anyone that says they can't better their own lives. What they need to do is be more resourceful and not squander away the money they have.

Unabashedly.

But we were hard working, responsible, non-drug using, back to the land hippies. Not even any sex allowed outside of marriage. No birth control. All babies born at home with midwives. Etc.

You know, what are called "conservatives" by some today!

It's amazing how time works.

In the early 1980's a good pair of the "newer" sneakers (not canvas converse) cost $70 or more and we (pretty poor at the time) paid it. For $25 you could buy the old type with no support or padding.

In today's $$ that would be well over $200 - for run-of-the-mill, the stuff you can buy for $60 today.

And yet people are worried about what would happen if the $60 sneakers were $80? I'll tell you what would happen. People wouldn't have as many pairs in the closet!

Take the first expense - health care. At her $18,000 income, she pays NOTHING per month for Obamcare premiums. It will be fully subsidized.

Then I went to the rent item. What's with this $800 the test claims? Because she has a child, she will get a subsidized apartment - or even a townhouse - for which she will pay a fraction of market rent. And if she's on the waiting list, she can share a modest two-bedroom apartment with another low-income person, for her share of $450.

After that, I gave up on the test.
Yeah I agree, I gave up after a few questions because it was just stupid and wrong.

I noticed the quiz quoted 30 dollars to visit the laundromat. I haven't been to one in years but last I recall it was around 5 dollars to wash and dry a load.

EBT cards( free groceries) welfare( basic spending needs), section 8 housing( reduced rents). You may not live well but you could live well enough not to starve and have leisure time, at least. Personally, I'd take up begging since that can be very lucrative.

Occasionally I visit the laundromat and I would say one persons laundry for about a week should be around 5 dollars or less.
Here is one in Long Beach.

Our washing range in price from $1.75 for our double loaders up to $8.00 for our super giants.

Super Suds offers a range of equipment and pricing to meet your needs. Ask one of our attendants to assist you in choosing which one is right for you.

Our Dryers
30 lb
$.25 for 10 minutes
