Congress getting the forms to launch an investigation. The government has the returns as a part of simple administrative actions of filing and auditing not for some investigative purpose.

The 4th amendment only mentions searches and seizures. Nothing about transferring data from one part of the government to another.

Trump most likely has things on his returns that could hurt him politically in 2020. Businessmen make a point of keeping their taxes to a minimum unlike career politicians who may prefer to pay a little more in taxes to help them come election time.

Does not mention abortion either. Long before Roe v Wade the fourth has been recognized as protecting the rights to privacy.

Roe had nothing to do with the Fourth Amendment.

Trump however once again thinks he is above others and could care less about transparency.
The reason we have the judicial branch of government is to keep laws within constitutional boundaries.

The returns are likely to expose Trump's claim that he's a big philanthropist as a lie (along with many other lies). I will wager that the returns will show that Trump has donated virtually nothing to charity. Any takers?

Yes but the fact there is politically damaging stuff on his returns does not justify violating his constitutional rights.

Of course there is stuff on his returns he doesn’t want people to see.
