Dad is the smart one in the family

Quote:
Harris’ father, Stanford University economics professor emeritus Donald Harris, responded in a statement to Jamaica Global Online, arguing his daughter is trafficking in “identity politics.”

“My dear departed grandmothers (whose extraordinary legacy I described in a recent essay on this website), as well as my deceased parents, must be turning in their grave right now to see their family’s name, reputation and proud Jamaican identity being connected, in any way, jokingly or not with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics,” the professor wrote.

Will be interesting how much play this gets. Harris is one of their favs so it will probably be ignored by msm.

For sure it will be ignored by the likes of NBC, CNN, WaPo, etc. Harris checks of boxes in the numerous memes they like to promote on a daily basis. No way will they go against that.

The Political and Establishment want to turn her into an amalgamation of Hillary & Obama. i.e. HillBama. But their biggest problem. Harris isn't up to it. She's a lightweight that can't deliver on that manufactured image.

Her father is right.

Harris is very good on stage, has decent experience (sitting US Senator), is young, and checks the 'not a white male' box. These are all strengths for her in terms of getting the nomination. Nonetheless, I'll be surprised if she gets it. Her record as an over-zealous prosecutor will come back to bite her when she tries to play identity politics. The other Democratic candidates, and the 'black lives' crowd, will make sure that her record is shouted from the rooftops

Her big government policies stink. Everything else is noise.
