The Obama administration’s Justice Department obtained a warrant under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA, to conduct electronic surveillance on Page in October 2016. The FISA court is in place to ensure the careful use of tools in the tool box, and to have oversight of the potential collision with the political process.

In sum, the court’s letter and various public statements, as well as the statistical evidence, show that FISA applications are subjected to exacting scrutiny; the FISA Court is not a rubber stamp. And they show that this scrutiny is effectuated in many ways, most of them informal—e.g., regular or ad-hoc telephone calls and meetings between the Court and the government—rather than more formal hearings. The absence of a “hearing” on the Carter Page FISAs does not in any way suggest that the FISA Court treated the applications casually or carelessly.

I know how it works, but generally one would have to tell the FISA court that the smoking gun information used was gathered by a political campaign, which didn’t happen. I’m pretty sure that’s not good.

Of course it didn't.

How many years after GWB was out of office did the left scream for him to be locked up for war crimes?

Now they whine how "Obama is out of office, move on".

OMG, they have short memories, turn on a dime in a heartbeat!

Flaming hypocrites!

Mueller's report looks bad for Obama(CNN)

The partisan warfare over the Mueller report will rage, but one thing cannot be denied: Former President Barack Obama looks just plain bad. On his watch, the Russians meddled in our democracy while his administration did nothing about it.

The Mueller report flatly states that Russia began interfering in American democracy in 2014. Over the next couple of years, the effort blossomed into a robust attempt to interfere in our 2016 presidential election. The Obama administration knew this was going on and yet did nothing. In 2016, Obama's National Security Adviser Susan Rice told her staff to "stand down" and "knock it off" as they drew....
Maybe they thought Hillary would just come in, fix it, get more flexible, and whatnot.

I would agree that we are sometimes funny, just not always haha funny.

Things have been getting haha funny lately though... Imo of course, ymmv, yada yada...

Now back to the OPs original assertion, all I know about our previous President's behavior near the end of his term was to go on a Sabotage America Tour, and to troll Presidential candidate Donald J Trump to go get some votes and not worry about our Election Fraud, and that he will at least go down as a President... Mic-drop... Walks off stage.

But hey, my memory is a bit foggy.

Once you have been around a while, you begin to realize that all Republican presidents are stupid, criminal, blah, blah, blah and all Democrats are brilliant saints. It's the young idiots who don't see this for what it is, mostly. But there are a great number of women around 60+, too, who are the feminists and never figured it all out.

They believe that we are intimidated enough that we will obey.

It's stunning to me that people have become so dumbed down they can't see the obvious. They would rather be lied to (feel warm and fuzzy) than be shown how they are being lied to (see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil). It's mind-numbing.

I wish I could rep you both again.
