I think someone a year ago said the Harriet Tubman $20 would be called a "Tubby"- at least it would be funny.
However, Harriet Tubman is probably #1,397 on the list of Americans deserving to be on currency.
What about military leaders like:
Patton
Ike
Audie Murphy
Sargeant York
MacArthur
Black Jack Pershing
The US has gone PC crazy. If one was going to choose a person representative of the slavery movement, Frederick Douglas would be more appropriate.

Harriet Tubman is a very minor character in US history and is not deserving at all to be on US currency. If one wanted someone involved in the liberation of slaves, use Frederick Douglas, as he had a huge impact on the anti-slavery movement.
Otherwise, use these presidents:
FDR
TR
Reagan
Ike
Truman
Some people never look at their money.
FDR was on the dime, Jefferson on the nickel, and Eisenhower on the silver dollar.
I think it's about time Harriet Tubman got her share of attention. There have been few Americans more heroic and altruistic.
FDR was on the dime, Jefferson on the nickel, and Eisenhower on the silver dollar..
Respectfully, what difference does it make if a person is already on money (?)
Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln are all on both bills ($1,2,5) and coins (1, 5, 25¢)..
Why should already being on a coin, solely disqualify someone (like Ike, etc) from being on more money (?)
Tubman was slated to replace slave owner Andrew Jackson — President Trump’s favorite commander in chief — as part of the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. But Mnuchin said the design process has been delayed until 2028.
“The primary reason we have looked at redesigning the currency is for counterfeiting issues,” Mnuchin said during a hearing before the House Financial Services Committee. “Based upon this, the $20 bill will now not come out until 2028. The $10 bill and the $50 bill will come out with new features beforehand".
Let's see, counterfeiting issues will preclude planned 2020 release of the new $20 bill until 2028 BUT new $10 and $50 bills will be issued as planned and on schedule. Apparently, those nasty and competent counterfeiters only targeted that $20 bill and no others.
Hmmm..... an excuse as phony as a $3 bill.
The $20 bill is the bill most frequently counterfeited.
But like you, I smell a convenient excuse to not do something they really don't wanna do.
And for everyone who's brought it up - it is Treasury policy to redesign coins and currency every so often.
"We redesign U.S. currency to stay ahead of counterfeiting threats and keep counterfeiting levels low.
The Federal Reserve, together with our partners at the Treasury Department, its Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and the United States Secret Service, continuously monitor the counterfeiting threats for each denomination of U.S. currency and make redesign decisions based on these threats. An inter-agency committee makes recommendations on design changes to the Secretary of the Treasury, who has final authority for U.S. currency designs." https://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/currency_12767.htm

You're asking the wrong person. I am not, the last time I looked, the Secretary of the Treasury, nor even a receptionist at the Department of the Treasury.
I just know what they've said about this in the past.
I never liked for people to throw around "racist" because someone disagree's with you. I ignored most of the time Trump was called that. I think the shoe fits this time.
Jackson was a man of his time, he should not be judged by today's standards.
