A judge at Westminster Magistrate's Court in London ordered that Johnson, a former UK foreign secretary, must face a private summons on three counts of misconduct in public office.
Johnson, who was the high-profile face of the Leave campaign, is accused of falsely claiming that Britain's membership of the European Union cost £350 million ($442 million) a week.
The claim was plastered on the side of a bus that toured Britain during the tightly fought campaign that resulted in a 52% vote in favor of the UK leaving the EU.

Firstly it was Leave UK's bus and not Johnsons, secondly Theresa May and other used trhe £350 million figure.
Thirdly the real figure for not paying EU Contributions would be around £234 million a week, which is still a significant figure and a hard Brexit would mean a further expected saving of of £40 billion, which would be much more closely alligned with the figure on the bus in the longer term.
Fourthly last year Theresa May announed another £20 Billion for the NHS which according to Mrs May – will see the NHS better off to the tune of £600 million a week in real terms by 2023-24, and the Prime Minister and not Boris Johnson cited saving from the EU going to the NHS at the time.
Finally the Magistrates don't have any real power in relation to this case, the only option other than dismissing the case would be to send it to the Crown Prosecution Service, who would most likely dismiss it, and Johnsons legal team could also appeal any case, so this is a great big waste oif time and money.
The idea of Boris Johnson having to appear before the Crown Courts is nonsense, and it's simply not going to happen.
Why can't the courts here hold Trump accountable for all his his bull**** lies? UK has us beat on that one
It's a PRIVATE PROSECUTION crowded funded by a Welsh businessman who doesn't like Boris. Of course the always crooked CNN didn't tell you this. And it wasn't about lying at all so your OP is 100% wrong.
Why do you continue to believe CNN tripe without question or thought?

Because it's true? He will face court. Unlike your lying sack of **** president who won't testify in front of anyone lest he perjure himself the moment he opens his mouth
His lies did help lead us to Trump's lies. Anything you are willing to ignore out of one will only get worse the next time. I noted this years ago when people refused to hold Obama accountable for his lies.
