How can you simultaneously argue that the US is this terrible place for minorities placing immigrants in concentration camps and that they need to come to the US because it’s the only safe place for them? Truth is that we’re the best place for minorities in the world, we legally accept a million a year, 130million mostly would be minorities are trying to immigrate here and another 600 to 700 million would if they could, the people being placed “internment camps” are voluntarily going there to get food, healthcare, even education while applying for asylum. Knowing that they will likely just be released into the country.
Was she right when it was Obama operating those camps or did they convert to concentration camps when Trump took over?
Trump has more people in detention camps now than Obama ever thought of. Trump has tripled the number of border crossings AND he refuses to release asylum seekers into the population with ankle bracelets on. AND he refuses to increase the number of judges to more quickly process asylum seekers.
This is his crisis.
So far, 25 people have died in detention under Trumps stupid policies. They are cramped, standing room only, with people standing on toilets just to have a place to stand.
Yes. She's right. We are. She didn't say death camps - she said concentration camps. There's a difference.
She also said administrations that open such places are fascists which would include Obama, Bush and Clinton as well.
Furthermore she mentions the slogan never again which has strong ties to the jewish holocaust.
As such, while she is technically correct, the entirety of her comments mentioning never again and facism makes it pretty clear she's making Nazi references.
In fact, hmmm....pretty sure Biden would have voted many of those concentration camps into existence over the years in budgets and whatnot. Will be interesting to see those debates eh?
