I read the Drudge Report daily, and lately most of the stories have been non-political in nature. Drudge is a cannier journalist than most and I think he's reading the mood right here. People are sick of politics and starved for other kinds of news stories.

The Drudge Report is not a journalistic company. They have no reporters themselves.
Drudge is the google for news other media outlets report on.

I believe Drudge has employees who are journalists. Their knack is rewriting headlines.

Drudge is like an editor who decides what gets printed from a menu of stories. That is not shoe-leather journalism, but it's still journalism. And he's way better at it than most of the Twitter junkies who call themselves journalists.

Ok you've convinced me. Drudge can't possibly be a journalist if he knows how to make money!
