True, but when the article starts out A bill to stop the sharing of child pornography on Pentagon computers is being contemplated by Congress. it's hard to take it too seriously.
As noted, no bill is needed.
Well, there are probably other factors in this, that the public isnt aware of, or is not privy to.
This makes it harder to trust these government agencies/branches with our country's security when they are somehow involved with things like child porn and human trafficking. With all the loopholes government workers can have against sanctions being used against them, how do we realistically address this concern?
Why I have an eerie feeling then the term pizzagate will be back with a vengeance?
Didn't you hear? Comet Pizza doesn't even have a basement, which means all child sex accusations involving Washington elites are nothing more than wild eyed conspiracy theories that only complete nutcases give any merit to. Unless Trump can be dragged in to it somehow, of course.
Not sure why a new bill is needed, there is already regulations (from OPM) against and an employee can be recommended for termination for just one incident involving child porn.
There are two bills, House and Senate.
Project Flicker, an ICE initiative, reportedly dates back to 2002. It identified many individual email addresses of military and defense contractors who used their personal credit cards or PayPal to pay for downloads.
Identities were not made public. Some were terminated. Some were prosecuted. And some were not investigated.
Major private sector employers routinely look for this sort of thing and block websites, terminate employees.
No reason to use government- issued equipment or email addresses when a personal cell phone ( including untraceable burners) and gmail address can be used.
No one knows what percentage of the population is into child porn. Guesstaments range from less than 1-5% of adult males. Whatever the number, it seems reasonable that the largest US employer would have a representative share.

Back after the Iraq thing started they did some snooping around and found a VAST number of people at the Pentagon and in the Bush Admin who had mail-order degrees from non-accredited colleges.
What else is new? Once the party starts...and you let people get away with one thing, what is the difference when they do the next thing? If our POTUS can be "admired" for sexual assault why is anything verboten any longer?
Just saying....not much new under the Sun. This is the world we created and approve of....not something that "just happened".
Pedophiles are the most cowardly and greatest bully s on earth.
Last place they should be employed= White House and Pentagon
And Church and Sports coaches and private school headmasters and so on and so on.
Those people are YOU AND I.
That is, we still go to church even when we know that the org is a full enabler of such. And so on and so on. 40% of this country supports, and even admires, a serial sexual assaulter accused of such.
If we took up pitchforks (well, or votes with our seats and our dollars) this would be tamped down. But this and many other sins are perfectly OK as long as the money is flowing, etc. etc.
Note - since none of these people are convicted yet the old excuse of "Our POTUS has never been convicted of such" doesn't carry any weight. Those 40% know the score...and yet, it's worth it to them.

Pedophilia was first formally recognized and named in the late 19th century. A significant amount of research in the area has taken place since the 1980s. Although mostly documented in men, there are also women who exhibit the disorder,[14][15] and researchers assume available estimates underrepresent the true number of female pedophiles.
