A lot of people near me say "Thanks Obama" or "No, the economy is not doing good. Black Americans and Clinton voters feel economic anxiety, not white working class people anymore".

Is it---or not?

Well it's good right now from the perspective that more people are employed. It's not so good from the point of being able to afford what was once more readily available to the middle class -- health care, a college career, a house. But we're living in a global economy now, which is holding down wage growth and keeping the economy going.

For various reasons I've got a feeling that the next recession could be a deep one. Enjoy the moment while it lasts.

Excellent where I am, you want a job, you got it. Most stores have jobs listed when you walk in. Of course, if you don't have qualifications, you have to accept lower paying jobs.

I am 70 years old, soon-to-be 71, and I would like to retire soon but my employer cannot find a replacement.

if you are not working now it is because you don't want to or can't.

Earlier GDP numbers were revised lower in today's report and the sad fact is that Trump failed to deliver on the rather low bar promise of 3% growth. Expect things to get worse.

The recession recovery has been going on for awhile now - didn't just happen after the inauguration Jan 2017. It took a lot of sacrifice from the American people who deserve credit for the current condition of the economy. We spent a ton in stimulus spending, unemployment compensation, housing rebates, clunker car rebates, bail outs, and quantitative easing by the FED.

For any individual (Drumpf) to claim credit is really dishonest.

Look at any graft of the DJIA, Unemployment rates and plot it from 2008 and you'll see the trend that we've been experiencing.

Hopefully Drumpf doesn't f*** it all up with his trade war, tax cut for the rich, and continuous deficit spending/debt build-up.

The recovery from the crash of 2008 started before Trump was inaugurated. Unemployment was at 4.6 plus or minus at the end of Obama's term. That was down 6 points from the 2009-2010 figures. How well the economy is doing is according to how many zeros you have before the decimal points in your paycheck. A lot of people making the median income for my state can't afford rent. Rents start at $1000.00 for a 288 square foot studio in the boonies here.

It’s not good. If Trump is in charge, it’s not good regardless how good it is.

Actually he promised 4-5%, so its a far cry from that promise, but he still says its "best this country has ever seen". Curiously some people actually believe it.
