American culture is assimilation with each other.. it is Chinese people eating a taco.. It is Irish people eating lasagna.. it all blending all of us and accepting it all as American..We ROCK!!
I think White Americans have a vast but not unique culture seeing as their is heavy influence from various European culture. Inventing things isn’t a culture though, while their might be cultural inventions the act of inventing isn’t a cultural act because 99% of any society doesn’t participate in invention. White American culture outside of the European influences that make up the vast majority of it is one of capitalism, American Protestantism, and Individualism to a fault. Outside of that you could argue much of the musical and other cultural aspects are holdovers from Europe or was adopted from African Americans. African American culture is more cemented because their isn’t the same tie to traditional European or the various African cultures that white Americans have. But it’s not like all White Americans have a borrowed culture, various things from California and it’s history of interaction with the water (Surfing) as well as the various Mass food chains that came from there and the South and it’s culture that is pretty unique. Not to mention Alaska and it’s even more rugged individualistic culture. Other parts of the country though are much easier to trace o Europe and only cultural inventions like Skyscrapers and Car usage have anything unique to it as well as corporatism, but thanks to globalism many of these once American cultural exports are so global it’s hard to say they belong to just America anymore.
I’ve never heard the argument that Europeans don’t have culture, they clearly do. I have only heard the arguments that Americans don’t have culture. That is significantly more valid than the first argument but still false.
White, or Europeans, most certainly do have a unique culture. One perfect example is Christmas, probably the most celebrated holiday in the world.
All cultures have both good and bad, it is human nature. Racism didn't just start with Europeans, they had help from fellow Africans and Arabs, who already practiced a race/religion based slavery system.
I've been to Germany and saw the history of my culture and it's long and pretty cool. Not all positive of course but mostly. They have records in the churches listing every single person who has lived in every little village all the way back to the 1700's. The same can be said for many other countries in Europe. The Europeans invented the idea of "culture"
Where we are. If you're white, and you hate it, there is a solution.
I will laugh hysterically if she is married to a white man. It is best to avoid these extreme radical sjw types.
Human nature is inherently violent regardless of culture across the globe. Those that want to end coloniality. Stop celebrating Christmas and stop speaking indo European languages.
Where we are. If you're white, and you hate it, there is a solution.
Except that you speak and think in our language, wear our clothes, rule your lives by our laws, social rules, religions, and literally your entire existence is defined by our culture. Its so pervasive that it has become your entire consciousness and faded into invisibility. Your failing to see what defines you does not negate its existence. Don't shoot the messenger.
Should we now endeavor to lampoon Black, Jewish, Latino, Indian or other cultures based on narrow narratives rooted in hostile self-interest? Similar to your effort here? Because we can do that too.
