A good friend of mine is dealing with this. She's a CD member, but has been inundated with parents and media outlets (not CNN or MSNBS) emailing/texting/calling her. I have her permission to post this on her behalf.

A Wake Forest, NC teacher, who teaches 10th grade English, asks this of her students & shares a little too much about herself (nothing has a thing to do with English) :

And no, the kids weren't allowed to "not answer". The teacher collected the "forms" from all. Don't know if it's a graded in class assignment or not.

I would expect teachers to teach.
Not announce to their sophomore English class that they are bisexual and then ask the kids to fill out a form "guessing" what gender/sexuality/race/socio-economic status/ability (what is "ability"?), etc., their friends, neighbors, people who live in their house, doctors are.
These kids are dealing with acne, hormones, figuring out who they are for themselves and what they want in the very near future (college or otherwise); don't put your liberal "woke" adult BS on them.
Unless, of course, THE PLAN is to indoctrinate them before they head off to college...

This is sick and an invasion of privacy. She'd be fired for asking any of things on a job interview and reprimanded for asking a coworker. And LMAO at asking the socioeconomic status of the doctor.
This is a matter for the school board. It is not on any state’s English curriculum, including North Carolina. It is a gross violation of student privacy. It blurs appropriate student/teacher boundaries. Yes, your friend’s kid is taken care of but this still needs to be addressed, because the very student who most needs protection from this type of inappropriate questioning is the student with parents who either can’t or won’t go through the steps to prevent it.
The taxpayers are paying for the teacher to teach her subject, and this is not it.
