What an idiot.

I don't care how comfortable they were with each other, who in their right mind in this hypersensitive social media age of ours would even think of saying something so stupid. On televised news no less.

Jeezus.

An Oklahoma television news anchor issued a sobbing apology to her “best friend” and coworker, who is black, for saying he looked like a gorilla on-air.

On Friday, Alex Housden, a news anchor at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City apologized to coworker Jason Hackett for her comment during a Thursday segment about the Oklahoma City Zoo.

What an incredibly insensitive and stupid thing for her to say. It’s hard to wrap my mind around the level of stupidity on this one.

Her coworker has been quite gracious in accepting her apology.

Because we thrive on lynch-mob "justice"

Incredibly stupid what she said, but to a majority of the country, or maybe just social media there is no better red meat than the opportunity to rage and demand the firing or destruction of ones life.

Even before I clicked on the link I knew it had to be a white person.
Anywhere there are too few blacks & their skin is dark or their hair is natural, here come white people to tell them that they resemble a monkey. Then they claim they're not racist because they were joking.

Who cares?

The liberal thought police has people on needles and pins, terrified that they might say something that the communist thought police might not approve of.

People say stupid things inadvertently all the time. Give me a break- has a liberal ever made a mistake.

The only disgusting thing about this story is the hysteria and shock it is creating. Grow a pair and be a little less sensitive and maybe the world would be a little better place, rather than putting the boots of the PC thought police to the neck of anyone who makes a blooper.

Maybe the PC thought police should listen more to Joe Biden if they really wanted to occupy their time better. Biden says far more shocking things on a daily basis and may be the POTUS. The only difference is that libs give their own complete latitude and are not subject to the rules of the PC police force.

I imagine the complete inability to control what comes out of your mouth isn't a desirable quality for a news anchor.

Let's not candy-arse around here. She didn't "say he looked like a gorilla."

The zoo segment appeared with a close-up of the gorilla, during which she giggled, kinda looks like you. To which he giggled in response, Yeah, it does.

Cut to the apology, where she's crying horseball tears and he's sporting a hangdog face. Did someone die?

Sure, she's an idiot, because she should've known that Twitter would've exploded along with the station's FB page. After all, this is 2019. Employees have to hold a summit to decide whether to give a black co-worker a hilarious greeting card which happens to feature an ape (give to whites, only), or whether it's acceptable to bring watermelon to a black worker's in-office birthday party.

He's a grown-arse man, and should have acted like one instead of a fragile flower, suddenly "deeply hurt" by an offhand comment. He sure didn't sound hurt at the time-- HIS reaction was as spontaneous as HER comment was.

C'mon.

A lot of women probably think most every guy looks like a gorilla who isn't exceptionally handsome. She probably doesn't find him too handsome and was busting his chops and didn't even have race in mind. And in that light it was sort of funny.
