I think that's what she said... I kinda lost track between the repeated use of the terms "unrealistic" and "realistic".
Maybe someone can clear me up.
But if she is suggesting that Miami will be gone in a few years... I guess that would be on pace for the world ending in 11+ years. I am not sure why she stopped at Miami, since the whole world will cease to exist.
Sea levels don't have to rise very much to cause serious problems for Miami. Even if you believe climate change is caused by God and is a sign of the rapture you have to admit that fact.
At the accelerating rate we are seeing the great glaciers and icecaps of the world melting, she is absolutely spot on. I agree her word soup was a little hard to follow, but compared to the old orange orangutan, she is a Nobel Laureate candidate. As I'm sure you realized, what she meant was gone as in uninhabitable, unless you are a fish.

Does anyone understand the physics of water? Think about it... Will the water stack up in Miami and not affect other areas in the ocean and Caribbean? Everyone's frame of reference for flooding is storms where there can be localized flooding. That flooding is from localized rain and wind.
If you are talking about flooding from ice melt, that water will have to flood everything between the poles before it gets to Miami. It's just impossible for melted ice water from the Arctic pole to affect Miami without it affecting Canada, Greenland, Norway, Siberia, Maine, New York, Seattle, ... That's just how water works. The melted ice water has to travel from up there to down here and it will distribute itself in all directions.
Miami is now flooding at a faster rate than it used to. They work with the many canals on the system to drain the water that way. A few good hurricanes it’s going to really do much more damage with deep flooding and the surge from the ocean than before. I still have family there and it’s worrisome. Believe it or not, Washington DC is sinking faster. New Orleans is bad too
