This happened at 4:00AM. Neighbors and the resident were outside when three masked youths approached with an alleged attempted robbery. Gunfire ensued. 2 firearms found at the scene. Unknown who the firearms belonged to.
The masked robbers were 2 brothers, aged 15 and 16 and another 15 year old. It is unknown if the would be robbers and the defenders and/ or neighbors knew each other.
It’s 4:00 AM. Do you know where your kids are?

Speculation on my part, neighbors were outside drinking all nigh long , when these teens approached.
My speculation:
Given the rapidity of return fire and the wee hours in a residential neighborhood. I'm thinking it may possibly be some sort of known location for drugs\cash to be found.
Personally, I think that getting a teenager up at 4AM to do anything needs to be a more specific plan and not some random robbery.
That's hilarious haha defending your own life and friends lives = playing Rambo. Thanks Finn for that, I have had a bad morning and that made me chuckle lol
He wasn't there defending his life before the teens arrived, he was there with his firearm and his friends at 4AM for some other unknown reason.
Maybe he drives a city bus for the last 20 years and was off to his 5am shift to support his family ?
Sure, or maybe they were male prostitutes who just finished his shifts. It doesn't really matter, does it. With all witnesses dead, they don't have to prove anything as long as they stick to the same story.

I agree.
This may get pretty sticky. There may be drugs found or money found, or some prosecutor may have trouble with an unarmed perpetrator being shot as he ran away. Too soon to tell.
First article doesn't mention the weapon but a witness cites that the return fire sounded like an "assault rifle" vs. initial handgun fire. Anyone that has either served or done any amount of shooting would be able to tell that so I find it fairly plausible especially considering that all 3 ended up dead, they got hit and hit hard.
So, AR-15 citation may come from another source or more likely mentioned as political fodder but it's not a huge leap\guess.

That was my first thought too. I think they might have been waiting for those kids to deliver drugs to them, and something went wrong. They carried guns in case something might go wrong, which is not uncommon in drug deals.

And anyone using the term "assault rifle" is a moron so we are back to square one.
Maybe they were all sitting around smoking Meth. Does not matter.
The 3 idiots went to the house, in hoods and armed at 4am and fired the 1st shot.
In TX and probably Georgia, the state assumes you are there to do them physical harm when you do stupid crap like that.
Yep. Same down here in FL too. Actually, we invented the SYG laws.
