People die in this country every year from running their mouths and saying the wrong things to the wrong people. Should we take away everybodys First Amendment rights as well because of this? This is the same logic for wanting to take away guns and everybodys 2nd Amendment rights for suicides!

The NRA's logic is based on fear (which is emotional) and quite illogical.

Provided they own one , extension cords are quite easy to get and apparently can get the job done as well.

A firearm is just an inanimate object that requires an end user. Just like that extension cord.

I assumed it was pretty non-partisan that people had an issue with him.

Absolutely. I know if I knew i was going to die a horrible , dragged out death I'd much rather take ownership of when and how that would happen.

FFS, we put our animals down when they are suffering but let our spouses, parents, grandparents etc suffer until they die.

Absolutely. People want to off themselves for a variety of reasons. It's very selfish of us as humans to try and keep people or animals alive if they are suffering physically or mentally. I have a kitty with cancer and they want thousands of dollars to remove the cancer and one of her legs. I'm not going to be selfish. I'm giving her a natural pain killer until she can't make it then we'll put her down.

2017 US murders....... 17, 263

'There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016.'

convenient to use gang killings when it forwards a political agenda. then not include them when a different narrative is desired.

17% gang/criminal related

65% suicide.... well you do support assisted suicide

'Jul 10, 2018 · Warring gangs have driven New York’s murder rate to an 8 percent spike through the first half of the year,...'
263 CA contributed 1,830 reported

Was kate steinly included in that tally how about the 30 cops so far this year?

still far behind 100 K deaths from medical mistakes.

do not think in terms of firearm deaths but the number of people who did the killings.

According to the FBI, 1,604 people were killed by “knives and cutting instruments” and 374 were killed by “rifles” in 2016..'

place pins in a map to indicate where each murder took place... notice how the pins are clustered and not equally distributed across cities and states.

then we have creative statistics via hierarchical coding ......A death classified as a homicide by the medical examiner’s office does not mean it will be considered a murder by Chicago Police.

This is why the stats vary so greatly! depends on how they are coded
