I'm just curious about the rebuttal Trump supporters are going to come up with in regard to this study. You often hear them praise Trump as the most peaceful, loving, altruistic president ever, but they never seem to understand that much of the country sees his rhetoric differently. Personally, I think he ran a vile campaign - hitting the low point when he mocked the disabled NYT reporter Serge Kovaleski. It doesn't surprise me that you find a statistically significant effect of Trump rallies on hate crimes.
While I'm sure there is probably a correlation, you cant simply ignore this quote from the article/study:
Quote:
They also said their analysis "cannot be certain" it was the president’s rhetoric at his campaign rallies that caused people to commit more hate crimes in the counties
A full study would probably also take into account the provocation stirred up by the known Russian Facebook groups that intentionally set up events and brought together both sides of an argument in person in hopes of stirring up trouble. Who knows what other factors could have contributed. Having Democrats constantly call everyone a racist probably splashes some gas on the fire too.
It's Washington Post Nonsense. They told us for 2 straight years that Trump had colluded with Russians. They told us that Jussie Smollett was attacked by Trump supporters. All lies.
Have they EVER written ANYTHING positive about Trump?
