But of course we do. Because on that same site the report the number of "serious" cases and so far it is only 5%, world wide. So we know it isn't going to be higher than that.
Massachusetts has one death and 400+ cases. Only 53 are hospitalized.
The first cases in Massachusetts were in February so.. 6 weeks in... (and very likely undetected infections) and we have ONE death.
For this, the entire state is in lockdown.
Your state has around 7 million people, if 10% of those were hospitalized, your state could not handle it.
That is the damn point of the lock down.
Italy is going through this now, they are making choices on who to save, who to not, because they do not have the medical facilities to handle everyone.
It is amazing this concept still escapes some people.
Theres 100s of thousands of cases not even reported yet. As another poster mentioned, we're about a month behind Europe in this thing
That means (1) there's 100s of thousands of cases not even reported yet in Europe too, or (2) Americans are healthier in general, or (3) the health care system in the United States is at least twice as supportive.
Because they are only testing those that are extremely sick needing hospitalization.
