We (our government), in order to make a fast buck, stopped manufacturing many of our products. China either on purpose, or shoddy/ignorance in their labs, unleashed this disease on the world. For what ever reason, our own short-sightedness highlight our errors. Our Medical supplies' (lack of quality/quantity especially) make us unable to make our own medicine, our economic contingencies (or lack there of) failing put many of us in debt. Apparently, relying on our global 'friends' ain't workin'.

Charity begins at home. Buy American. start manufacturing for ourselves, and stop depending on and supporting those countries who don't support us.

Shortly someone will come along, likely a democrat, and blame the American consumer for demanding cheap products. And we (our govt) isnt who manufactures our products, unless you consider them bought and paid partners of big corp

well in part the consumer is part of the problem. instead of buying american, we do in fact tend to buy the cheapest items on the market. for instance, cornwell makes tools in this country exclusively, but they have a tiny share of the market even though they have been around for 100 years. craftsman makes a majority fo their tools in china these days, and they own probably the largest share of the market. snap on makes many of their tools in china.

the problem is globalism, and the efforts of our governments pushing it. and this is regardless of which party is in power. republicans are just as guilty as democrats in this regard.

also instead of spending money in our country where it needs to be spent, we spend it in other countries, even onese that hate this country and always will.

the last problem is the herd mentality. most people are sheep and are very willing to be led around by their noses and the barking dogs of government and they dont care about anything but going about their mundane lives while thinking that it doesnt matter who is in power, or what those in power do, as their lives are not going to be affected.

We have been total saps with military and economic aid for decades. This was actually our debate topic in my 1963 high school debate class

Your title line is correct, but you only mention the tip of the iceberg. You could also include the way Trump keeps undercutting health care, the way conservatives are susceptible to Republican lies, the way Trump's moves prioritized economics over safety, the way people's selfishness led them to hoard.
