In case you were wondering why the Portland riots have continued for more than 70 nights running, without letup....

My own personal favorite line was the last one:
".... there have been about 550 protest-related arrests since May 29 and **only** 133 of those are felonies." (emphasis mine)

Yes, folks, "ONLY" 133 felonies. Hey, not even worth getting out of bed for. And that was the District Attorney talking!

If you look in the dictionary under "completely unqualified", you'll probably find that guy's picture, and a copy of that quote.

Multnomah County DA won’t act on low-level Portland protest arrests

8/11/2020, 2:03 pm

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The newly elected district attorney in Portland has announced a new policy that means that cases will be dismissed against dozens — and possibly several hundred — people arrested on lesser charges at the ongoing protests.

District Attorney Mike Schmidt said Tuesday the new policy recognizes the frustration over centuries of racial inequity being expressed by protesters and also recognizes the court’s need to conserve resources during the coronavirus pandemic.

Schmidt says there have been about 550 protest-related arrests since May 29 and only 133 of those are felonies.

If you are a democrat in a democrat city, you are allowed to do whatever you want.

Sounds like a fun time.

This is what subversion of the legal system by anti-American leftists looks like.

Am I the only one who is concerned that they only managed to nab 133 people doing felony level rioting?

no worries. All they have to do is increase the usage of "assault on a public safety officer".

How mqany of those 550 were arrested more than once? Only to be let go, and go right back to throwing rocks, looting stores, lighting fires etc. the very next day?

Wash, rinse, repeat?

The people of Multnomah County voted for this guy, so apparently this is what they want. So I say, give it to 'em in spades. The police out to call out sick, every single last one of them, and stay home. After all, why bother putting yourself at risk if the people you arrest are just going to be turned loose? So let the looters turn Portland into a looted, burned-out shell. It's what the people want.
