Seems like a structural fiasco. Good, wholesome good's paying jobs have moved as fast as they can from places like New York and California because Democrats want a socially based, intangible economy and shame those and regulate goods-producing manufacturing employment.
I have seent monthly employment reports from the 60s and 70s and the economy seemed very balanced back then and made a tremendous amount of sense.
Now a massive percentage in big cities are based on arbitration in a room with a politician in a robe, creating new companies that make things more complicated but claim to be simple, zombie companies that only exist because of fiat currency, people who indoctrinate for a living with promises of future success and medical intervention, about half of which is brought on large cities mainly toxic restaurants.
The economy has always had a intangible component to it, but the percentage of economy based on personality, intangibles and socially based occupation is quite interesting these days.
California February 17.6 million non-farm unemployment, October 16.1 million non-farm employment.
NY February employment: 9.84 million non-farm unemployment, 8.78 million in October
