Beware: Non believers are judged immediately upon death, and find themselves in a state of separation from God and condemnation/punishment from which there will be no escape, either temporally or at the close of the age in eternity....

Americans' membership in houses of worship continued to decline last year, dropping below 50% for the first time in Gallup's eight-decade trend. In 2020,

It's natural for a civilization to become more enlightened as science explains the world, leaving the belief in magic/myths behind.

It's progress man, you should be happy.

Sounds like a lot of people are actually reading the Bible instead of using it for a club, and they don't like the hypocrisy the church leaders adopt to try to keep the collection plate full.

Nowhere in the Christian Bible does it ever state that meeting in a church building with a pastor is a necessity for worship. The Amish have never built a church. Would you say they are "non-believers"...?

I think maybe misdeeds within the church are what caused membership to drop. The left didn't cause priests to molest boys or cause the church to try and Cover er it up. They also didnt cause the Jim Bakers. People have evolved and no longer trust religion.

Easy now, you've got the 2+2=5 and the "there are 24 genders" crowd on your side.
You can poke fun at religion, but you still believe in the state which is proven failure day in and day out with everything it does. When will you become more enlightened?

Check out the numbers by generation:

Silents (born prior to 1946) = 66% church membership
Boomers (1946 to 1964) = 58%
Gen X (1965 to 1980) = 57%
Millennials (1981 to 1996) = 36%

That's my fault somehow? Please explain?

The left? The reason people are leaving the church is because of the warped and hypocritical beliefs on the right. It will be the evangelicals themselves who destroy religion in this country. People are finally recognizing their beliefs as un-Christian.

Nothing new. We were founded by a bunch of deists. Thomas Jefferson famously took out all references to miracles and the supernatural to form the Jefferson Bible. Imagine someone running for president that had done that now. Or Thomas Paine: "All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."

What is relatively new is the "religious right"...and insisting the founding fathers would have anything to do with them.

This is a good thing...most wars throughout history are caused by religion...Christians have killed more people than any other religion throughout history...belief in fairy tales like a man walking on water, or a flood covering the whole earth, or a man surviving being eaten by a whale and so on and so forth just reeks of uneducated stupidity...very glad more and more people have become enlightened and therefore more tolerant.
