No one really should be surprised by this. Of the two trillion dollars only about $750 billion is going towards traditional infrastructure projects. Also very little money is going to help fix the crumbling highways throughout this country.

Quote:
"This plan is not about rebuilding America’s backbone. Less than 6% of this massive proposal goes to roads and bridges," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said. "It would spend more money just on electric cars than on America’s roads, bridges, ports, airports, and waterways combined."
Biden's $2T spending plan, billed as infrastructure bill, spends less than half on infrastructure

Thoughts?

Very predictable.

Biden wants to claim credit for people returning to work as the pandemic ends, so spending a bunch of borrowed money allows him to do that.

Meanwhile, he can pay-off Democrat friendly interest groups, unions, government employees, etc.

This is what you get when every flunky in the country is allowed and encouraged to vote.

...............and guess who is going to pay for all of this?

It will only be a matter of time until one won't be able to afford purchasing
foods at your local supermarket marked for discount or clearance.

The numbers are so large that they are uncomprehensible. The public is fatigued from hearing the government spending billions and trillions on every whim and fancy while the debt rises and rises. I think most people just tune it out anymore, thereby giving the rulers a green light to do as they please. And as long as we keep letting ourselves get divided in every way, shape, and form, whether it be by race, economic status, political party, etc., etc., we'll focus on that instead of where our focus should be; on them and their spending of our tax dollars.

It is ridiculous. If we ran our households like they run the country we would be homeless in no time. How can they spend money that they do not have by the truck load again and again?

I remember when Obama had that infrastructure spending spree and one of the sites was about 30 miles from me. The before and after wasn't much different but he had a really pretty sign erected on the site to tell us what all the moving and shaking was about.

I wonder how much of this package will be going overseas for gender studies in Pakistan, or providing abortions in countries that have outlawed it, or maybe we will be building up Central America so the people won't come here?

The first Covid relief bill had a small percentage actually going to covid relief so why should this one be any different?

The Democrats are happy to spend spend spend on their progressive pet porky projects.

I've done the math on every covid "stimulus" package, and NONE of them has allotted more than 50% to go directly to those in need. ~70% theft rate is the average...~30% going to the people.

Its all just a massive government heist of future taxpayer dollars.

Thinking about what you wrote had me question our elected. Are they really that different than developing countries that have millions of dollars handed to them and only pennies get to the truly needy?

Heck we saw this with Puerto Rico after the a natural disaster where Trump was mocked for tossing out paper towels but in reality the leaders in that country were hoarding the relief packages and diverting aide money for themselves.

We have also seen this happen in so many other countries, aid organizations, non profits, churches and so many others.

It seems to be human nature to skim off the top and we have no choice but to just accept the graft.

This is disgusting and just as wrong as illegal aliens being given preferential treatment above our needy citizens.

2 Trillion is an inconceivable pile of money but the Dems are spending it like there is no tomorrow and with them running the country there might not be.

Welcome to "tax and bribe" politics.
If you're not getting more bribes, you're paying more taxes.
