I doubt that men will ever get super picky about it. Since women are the ones who have to go through pregnancy and child rearing it's women who should be super picky about who they choose to father their children.

.

That all depends on the cost incurred by the father.

A man inclined to be a full-time committed father will be highly selective.

It's no different than with women.

FTR, lots of women blow their kids off to run around with various men.

What exactly is the physiology that prevents a male birth control pill to be effective.
It's a numbers game. It's much easier to prevent one of something than thousands. Also, with men, you don't want the feminizing side effects which can occur in chemical castration. This can happen with drugs that inhibit androgens. Yes, we can stop sperm forming with anto-androgens but the side effects make it unacceptable. Those drugs are used in some kinds of male cancer.

Cessation of ovulation occurs when a woman is pregnant. The increased amount estrogen and progesterone makes the woman's body think it is pregnant and so ovulation stops. Also, the increased amount of hormones make the uterus and cervix less hospitable to sperm. You need hormones to stop ovulation before menopause.

I dont believe you have read any of the information available on the research and clinical trials of both hormonal and non hormonal male birth control methods. Its not a numbers game.

the manipulation of estrogen and progesterone is not natural. Hormonal birth control for women also has many negative side effects; blood clots, weight gain, migraines, spotting, missed periods, nausea, high blood pressure, heart attack............................................ ...........

Exactly.
It not only gives men more options and more control over their reproduction it is double protection if both parties are using effective BC.

Let's see what happens when Roe v Wade is gone.

It's gonna be a whole new game.

Men have been getting snipped for decades. DH did it in 1966.

Now that it is reversible I vote all male children have it done at birth. Or by their 12th birthday.

Want to know what all those side effects remind me of? Pregnancy, lol. Pregnancy increases your risk blood clots because of high estrogen levels. Have you looked at a graph of hormone levels during pregnancy? Missed periods occur with high estrogen and progesterone levels. Hypertension is not a normal side effect of birth control.

Exactly. With marriages basically being 50-50 odds of working and courts typically favoring women when it comes to kids — a man in today’s world needs to be very selective and extra careful about who he creates a child with.

Oh, probably as much as the post #27 to which you replied. Especially the last sentence.

If he forgets to take the pill then the birth control that she is using will prevent pregnancy. If they both forget to take the pill then it can be assumed that they both wanted to become parents.
