Illegal immigrants should look at this chart before they decide to break in to the country.

In reality this poll is... honestly... very inaccurate if we are ranked lower than Papua New Guinea , Trinidad, and Jamaica!!!!

I think it means what threat to world peace is a nation. Somehow Jamaica doesn't strike a lot of terror anywhere.

But having Israel ranked lower than North Korea was cute.

Global Peace; no greater oxymoron exists.....save for perhaps "Liberal Tolerance".

lol @ the secular fundamentalists neolibs who still think that world peace is achievable despite their being no precedent for it and 1,000's of years of conflict proving otherwise.

Seems like a fairly crappy list...China's position on it is hillarious.

No consideration for the US getting stuck post WW2 inheriting all of the European colonial issues (India\Pak, Israel etc.) and then having to face off against the USSR as a battered Europe recovered.

It was the "peaceful" nations that couldn't \didn't want to stop the ethnic cleansing in Bosnia etc. Be nice to see the US go isolationist so we can then be blamed for NOT getting involved (Somalia etc etc)

I noticed that the nations in the bottom 20 all have some extreme Islamic component going on or some nasty dictator ruling over the people.

Nations at the very top are not really in a global position to run anything, so they just go with the flow. Safe way to live, sure.

The USA's position doesn't bother me because the movers and the shakers are going to have enemies.

So what.

Unfortunately, whether the poll has accurate basis or not, the world needs a superpower to keep things in check. No superpower in history has ever been peaceful. What if the US had backed down during the Cold War years, and left the world to fall the USSR? I know there are radical left-wingers who would be ok with that, but the fact of the matter is without balance the world crumbles.

Also, notice that the vast majority of the countries near the top put their military forces into NATO or the UN, as opposed to having their own (aside from maybe a National Guard). That is the sort of thing these polls don't take into account.

Some of those listed are a joke, China at #67, Vietnam at #37? What in the world is the basis for that? Upon further investigation into the organization's sponsors shows heavy bias, it's no wonder that the rankings are skewed.
