From a standpoint of human compassion it is too bad. However, resilient Ted has amazingly survived until now with his habits. Guess he will eventually meet his maker and take the truth of July 1969 with him to his grave.
All of his alleged habits aside, Senator Kennedy is an American icon and deserves your respect! BTW, Mary Jo Kopetchny is buried directly above my mother-in-law's grave site.

I am just really saddened by it. During good times and bad times he has stood with the working class, the downtrodden, the despised and the hated- even when it was not popular to do so. He has stood with us as we have fought the forces of evil and the forces of darkness who have cursed our great nation (Republicans) and now that we are on the verge of a great victory, it appears he will not be here to enjoy it. How sad.

Please?!?! He's a Democratic Senator so he deserves our respect But it's ok for many on this list to drop a duece on Bush ad nauseum.
p.s. Bet M.J. is laughing in her grave.....
p.p.s. Teds car has killed more people then my gun.
But now the this is going to get interesting in the political world. I wonder who is going to take the place of the good senator and carry the flag of liberalism? Kerry (Mr charisma killer) just can't do it.
IMHO Kennedy has held liberalism back for years....he's of the same rich elite liberal grain as Kerry. There are MUCH better poster children than someone like him who is largely unadmired outside of his home state.
That being said, I hope he is ok but at least he didnt die young like the others
I wish him a speedy retirement, as I would with anyone in Congress - regardless of party or political views - who has been there over 40 years.
On a personal level, I wish Senator Kennedy the best and hope he recovers and enjoys some time post-Senate.
