Title 42 was put in place due to the Covid pandemic.

If we rescind it, we should replace it with a nearly-identical law saying simply that people crossing the border without a visa will be turned back and sent back to the country they crossed from... without mention of Covid-19, which is on the wane.

Hiding behind Title 42 was a handy tool for doing what we should have done all along. Now that that's going away, we need to replace it with a rule that continues this policy without having to hide behind a pandemic.

CDC says controversial border policy keeping out asylum seekers will end in May

by Kate Morrissey
APRIL 1, 2022 9:44 AM PT

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has moved to end a controversial border policy that kept thousands of asylum seekers from requesting protection in the United States over the past two years.

The decision Friday leaves the policy, known widely as Title 42, in place until May 23.

Enacted in March 2020 by the Trump administration, the policy says that border officials can prevent asylum seekers and other undocumented migrants from crossing onto U.S. soil and expel them if they do manage to get inside the country. Those expulsions sent many back to the country they crossed from — generally Mexico — or to their countries of origin.

Title 42 was but a finger put into a hole of a leaking dam. The Biden admin is now pulling that finger out and cutting it off.

Would it really surprise us if the Biden admin. puts out the word to all the poor "immigrants" that were turned away due to Title 42 that they would now be welcomed back with open arms and back paid benefits?

Looks like this is another policy of their own administration, that most forum leftists don't want to discuss.

That's because most of them are bleeding heart liberals or have ethnic ties to these "migrants". They see what Biden has been doing is a good thing. Any laws passed to the contrary doesn't fit their agenda.

How is this law even controversial? Of course people breaching our border without a visa should be turned around.

Why enact new “legislation” rather than just follow federal law as was intended?

The federal government needs dismantling. They have failed us for decades, and now its more than obvious it has been intentional all along.

Sure they will fix it. They will fix it after they let everyone in. The Democrats are a disaster. They are intentionally destroying our country!
