Five associates of Hillary Clinton and her presidential campaign are invoking their Fifth Amendment rights and refusing to cooperate with Special Counsel John H. Durham, according a filing in federal court revealed later Friday in Washington, DC.
The revelation emerged in a motion filed by Durham to oppose the efforts of defendant Michael Sussmann and the Clinton campaign to withhold some documents from evidence by asserting attorney-client privilege.
So in this case, pleading the 5th indicates guilt on the part of the principal target of the investigation? I imagine there’s some other major investigation going on, somewhere, where the 5th has been pled. Must mean the same thing-right?

Well... Hypocrisy is thick with the Dems.
When Hillary associates plead the 5th then that is their Right but if the walls that the Dems have been pushing for years finally close in on Trump and he or his family end up pleading the 5th is there any question how that will be perceived by the Left??
According to the Left Trump has been guilty since 2016. They are not sure of what but he is red handed guilty of something.

I didn’t say a thing about whether it was their right or not. You’re projecting AND being hypocritical.
It IS everyone’s right and either we don’t read anything into it-for everyone-or we interpret it as a tacit indicator of guilt-for everyone.

But I’ll emphasize you just talked yourself into a corner. Is Hillary to be considered guilty because of the 5th by her associates? Then Trump should be also. Should we give Trump the benefit of the doubt because the 5th is a right? Then you owe the same to Hillary. It's a good question.
Yes, we all have the right to not be compelled to be a witness against ourselves.
The Founders understood that politics comes with lots of dirty tricks, so forcing prosecutors to prove guilt without the convenient leverage charging perjury every time they get an answer they don't like is fundamental to sustainable self-governance.
Unfortunately, we have also allowed the FBI to effectively plead the Fifth with their "cannot comment on ongoing investigations" or "cannot disclose sources and methods" non-answers that they consistently throw out every time someone asks a question that would tend to incriminate their agency and political appointees in top management.
The magic question, the one that explains all, is "Why?"
I believe the Founders thought long and hard on the matter of the Fifth Amendment knowing that it would be used by the guilty to hide evidence and conceal their own guilt and concluded that preventing the justice system being used as a political weapon against rival parties and politicians was more important.
Back to the question of why.
As before, we seem to have a group of individuals refusing to cooperate because they understand the DOJ is on their side and if they stonewall long enough, the process will exhaust itself.
Our government is corrupted, so there is no one to watch the watchers.
Give one immunity, then they either testify or go to jail.
