I can't even begin to imagine that this now is the reality in the USA. There is not another country in the world where this is the case.

We do all we can to make sure cars are safe, that children are safe in those cars, and that the people who use those cars are trained, licensed and insured.

Imagine such a concept!

Children are more likely to die from guns than from auto accidents

Children are more likely to die from an abortion than guns and auto accidents combined.

Well, technically, vehicles have killed far more people than guns, so their popularity or usefulness should not even be relevant!

Why are they not cracking down on vehicles, making them much more difficult to legally obtain? Do they not care about the kids that vehicles have killed? Who cares about vehicles serving a purpose? Are children that expendable?

This is par for the course with the govt though...take the drug laws for example...they claim its a health and safety issue, (but didnt they learn their lesson with alcohol prohibition?), thats what everybody says...why create laws on different substances, when they KNOW 'prohibition' doesnt work?

Same thing with the guns/vehicles! (they claim its about health/safety), but the REAL health/safety risk, (vehicles), they do not restrict them at all?! LOL

This alone is enough to prove its NOT about anyones health or safety...Restricting access to guns is the govt protecting itself.

Many here care more about the unborn than the born. Think that should maybe change?

And why is this the case?

The Post found deep racial disparities within the overall pattern. Non-Hispanic Black youths are the only group for whom guns are deadlier than cars
- Perhaps there is a reason for that?

There is a really simple way to reduce the number of youths killed by gun violence. But where a lot of these kids are getting killed is in the "blue" liberal cities where crime is increasing significantly. But instead of dealing with this with the idea that "Black Lives Matter" the government officials are more concerned about allowing a woman to kill her baby than worry about a few gang bangers shooting at each other.

Most of those children die from gangs and inner city violence rather than the average American gun owner. You could really say that gun control advocates are more at fault for these deaths. Instead of fixing the problems within these ghettos, the gun control advocates would rather ban guns.

What a bunch of silly answers that try to evade the problem. We are the laughing stock of the world. We let crazy people get guns and kill countless people over nothing.

It's not too funny though, killing innocent children. Once again people make senseless comments and people all over the world think America is crazy.

It's pathetic when adults won't even consider some gun restrictions so that children can be safe.

It's, no doubt, very important to understand that to conservatives, protecting gun rights under the 2nd Amendment is much more important than protecting children and adults from senseless mass shootings. The very fact that conservatives refused to protect us from senseless shootings after the extreme Las Vegas and Orlando mass shootings quite overwhelmingly proves what I mean. So, conservatives expect us to be personally responsible for our own security by not venturing out unless we pack a gun to protect ourselves from the next mentally disturbed individual who suddenly pops up shooting.

It would help some if the minimum wage to buy a gun could be raised to age 21, but conservatives would be quite vehemently opposed to doing that. Yet, decades ago, it wasn't too difficult to raise the minimum age from 18 to 21 to buy alcohol, due to the drunken carnage those under 21 were causing on the roads.

Last time I saw one of these studies they included gang members up to age 25 as children.
