Really? What if my guns are semiautomatic rifles chambered in .223 or .308, both with 20+ round magazines? Do I get to keep those guns?

I think they rather have an army like the United States. Given the choice.
And since when do you know what liberal want or like? why don’t you ask them instead of assuming you know how others feel?
Honestly, you have me all wrong.

haha. "I shouldn't paint with such a broad brush!" even. What the?

So no semi-automatics eh? We all just have to carry bolt action rifles and revolvers, right? That's what you're saying?
These people don't own guns, and probably never have. They just want to sound authoritative when the subject comes up.

Precisely. Bolt action, pump action, lever action, or multiple-barreled guns like the Germans make.

So if they pass this new set of restrictions...I am now a criminal because I own semiautomatic rifles? Or does the government force me to surrender my legally acquired private property under threat of making me a criminal?

The way it has been done in other countries is to have a buyback and a grace period of ninety days or so. After that, they will be illegal to possess. You can keep them, you just can't ever let anyone else know you have them.

So I am declared a criminal for possessing that which is currently legal to own. Gotcha.
