It’s been more than a month since the Senate passed a new bill that would enhance safety and security for Supreme Court justices by unanimous consent. During that time, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has attempted to accomplish the same feat in the House several times and he did so again yesterday. But Speaker Nancy Pelosi once again shot down the request. She’s sticking to the same excuse she’s used all along, but at this point, it has long since become obvious that the Speaker is engaging in a delaying tactic for political purposes. And last night, McCarthy called her out for it. “You’re trying to delay it,” he said. “That’s exactly what you’re doing.” (National Review)

If one of the millions of unhinged lunatics who make up the Democrat base succeeds in assassinating a Supreme Court justice, this vile woman needs to spend the rest of her miserable life behind bars or face a firing squad for treason.

I cannot comprehend how any sentient human being can continue to support the Democrat Party at this point. No, I'm not saying every American should be a Republican. But there is no basis for supporting the Democrat Party. The country is burning down and these people are conducting a show trial about a one day riot.

I totally understand why so many Democrats are not seeking reelection with the direction the party is headed. Pelosi babbles and Biden fiddles while the country is destroyed.

Imagine the outrage from Pelosi and the rest if one of "their" judges was targeted? We would be seeing the media actually talking about it, the Politicians actually doing something about it and no doubt tying the would be assassins gun to their stats that all guns are bad... BUT since this was Kavanaugh who cares. Pelosi sure doesn't, he made her look like a fool when she trotted out Blasey Ford in the 11th hour of his hearing.

I applaud Pelosi on this one!

SC justices are no more than Govt paid judges...(yes, the federal govt pays their salaries!)

That is a HUGE conflict of interest.

Just imagine if you were the defendant in a trial and the judges salary was being paid by the Prosecution?! WHo do you think the judge would favor?

You can bet your ass you're paying for Nancy Pelosi's security detail... so get off that high horse.

Pelosi's objection is it doesn't go far enough. She thinks the clerks need protection as well. I'm sure all her staff have the same protection she does.

I'm sure Pelosi wouldn't shed a tear if any of the Conservative judges "got removed".
I don't think the woman has any morals at all.

1. The bill is coming up for a vote perhaps as soon as today

2. The reason this was being held, is the House was working on expanding the bill passed by the Senate to include protection for clerks and staff.

1. The Senate bill already includes protection for clerks and staff.

2. The clerks and staff of House members, which is what her false excuse is supposedly for, aren't facing assassination attempts and nightly protests at their homes. Maybe they should be.

The issue was whether the protections should extend to family members of judicial staff and clerks

Quote:
The office of House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) said in a late-night advisory that the chamber would vote Tuesday on a Senate-passed bill that would extend security to family members of Supreme Court justices, but not to family members of judicial clerks or other staffers.

Family of those personnel were included in a competing House bill that Democrats had hoped to pass this week. But after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) delivered an unusual public ultimatum Monday night, threatening to block the House bill from passage, Democrats changed course.
