If you came to earth as an alien and looked around there are 2 major countries that would make them scratch their heads as to their state on the planet and history.

One would be Russia, the other would be China.

While China is on the rise again, it has repeatedly suffered enormous internal strife and set backs due to poor leadership.

Russia, the same.

Now this is true of many countries but they have checks and balances that limit the damage that can be done by a "Supreme leader". Hey, don't get me wrong. A wise and benevolent supreme leader can do wonders. The problem is always the next guy.

So, sooner or later Putin and Xi will be replaced by some ruthless but damaging fool. Their country will take a huge backstep, not a small one. Perhaps even a ruinous collapse of the country itself setting it back decades.

Thus is the problem with concentrating power. It's like repeatedly making larger bets at a roulette table. Eventually it goes badly.

Cashless will NEVER happen in the US.

Far too much corruption here and cash is the only currency accepted in that world.

That is the path we currently are on folks. See how quickly folks downloaded, uploaded and used that covid vaccine pass to "live life" in those cities/states that instituted that mandate.

In Australia they were living with "QR codes" to get around in society.
Urbanity is one of the easiest ways to control people. Choose your place to live wisely is all I can say.
