This Congress is doing these televised hearings, to put it on the record in support of whatever happens next, and I suspect in the hopes that the right won't go ape-crap in the streets if their guy gets arrested. The DOJ plays its cards far closer to its vest and they have already requested and received tons of material from the Committee's investigations.
There is a reason why ALL of the testimony in these hearings has been from Republicans. All of it. They hope that you will listen to your own. But it's wishful thinking because at this point, the supporters they wish to reach are not old school boring conservatives. They don't support your Grandpa's Republican Party.
If Congress flips red, sure, nothing further will progress in Congress, but with the filibuster as it stands, nothing much by way of election law reform is likely to make it through anyways. But... Congress does not control the DOJ. It is under (technically, though much modern interpretation has it standing independent) the Executive. Congress won't go so red that Biden will be impeached and removed, like at worst it'll be a repeat of what happened with Trump...impeachment without removal. At most, and if that. So this DOJ has until the end of 2024 to do whatever they are going to do.
And I think that they are moving up the food chain, and they won't stop short of Donald Trump.
I'm finding it rather interesting to watch people scramble to throw one another under busses. Play wannabe mafia games, win wannabe mafia prizes.
