Ummmm...yeah...no. The original Klan was not founded by Confederate ex pats yes, but they weren't "a handful of ex soldiers with no political affiliations. It started as a way to wage guerilla war on occupying Union troops. And a very large number of those troops were Black. A move intended to pour salt in wounds. The Klan were and are a tool of the Democrats. Politics did and do play a huge part.
Southern Democrats or "Dixiecrats" as they have been called were how the Klan became so powerful for so long. Tens of thousands of them marching through DC fully robed. Little historical facts that a source like BET would certainly find convenient to omit. The democrats gave the KKK a ton of overt support up until the Civil Rights Movement and continued to support them albeit much more discreetly afterwards and still do.
The Dems leftward push into socialism and outright communism is deeply rooted in racism. Think about that. The two biggest actors in communism Russia and China don't exactly have "diversity" at the top of their respective lists as a priority. And neither do the Democrats truth be known. Racial discord is just a handy tool in their box. If their wildest leftist dreams were to come true tomorrow Blacks in particular would be back in the fields so fast your brain couldn't measure the speed.
Racist Democrats you ask? Yepper. Remember the greatest trick the devil has ever pulled off has been to convince the world he doesn't exist.
