Teenagers are not 5-year-olds, and expect a certain degree of privacy. If not granted that privacy, many will figure out how to sneak out when adults are not looking, using deviously clever deceptive tactics if needed. Ask me how I know.

100 years ago, you would not have had this argument in the US. In some other countries there would still be no argument. Would I like a 13 year old to have sex? No, but the hormones start the urges around that age. No reason to ruin anyone's life. over something natural.

With this said if marriage can be allowed it doesn't seem a stretch that they view the age of consent to be 13..

Pretty sad that a kid is so scare of her parent(s) that she would have to look at making this decision on her own, but its ok that the right would condone them getting married because they are in the family way....

Who wouldn't be afraid of their parents for a decision like this? Unless parents condone the behavior that would have led to the moment to begin with
Oh, and by the way, California has no minimum age for marriage as long as at least one parents consents. So much for "the right" on that And, note, considering that a child can be legally emancipated from their parents in CA starting at the age of 14, they might not even need parental consent to wed at that young age.
